So, I just wanted to remind everyone to pray for the elections!...so much can be said about it...but, (my roommies especially), I know you are sick of all the commercials, and soon, they will be over for at least until another election!  But it is really important.  Unfortunately, we have really let our society slip.  It's sad that they actually have to vote on things that should never even be questioned.  Such as, in CA, they are voting on whether or not to keep same-sex marriage.  In CO (I think that is the correct state?), they are voting on whether or not a baby is a person from conception.  The saddest thing of all to me is that we don't even look at these things as the most important.  We look more towards other things., such as MONEY!  That is always the biggest issue- whether it's the economy, taxes, or whatever else, it comes down to money.  And wow.  THat is scary.  Honestly, I was more upset when I found out that my dad could lose his job if Obama is elected because Obama wants to get rid of all coal-using energy producing factories than because Obama has mixed-up morals (though I am not saying that his opponenets NECESSARILY do either).  And that is the state of society.  We are so stupid!  And I am so sorry that I personally haven't been better about it, let alone the church in the world!  Things are totally a mess!  I am sorry that I have become so selfish and interested in getting what I want that I have not stopped to tell a friend about the blessings that I had had in my life when I accepted Jesus!  I realize that the times when I am unsatisfied with my life, I am the furthest from God!  We really need to break this habbit, and although, a good president always helps (but no one is perfect!), God can work no matter who on Earth is in charge!  So praise Him for that!

Well, I don't know about you, but I love watching the Olympics! I don't think a lot of popular singers have much talent, but a person who can flip backwards off a vault deserves a medal! But what's almost funny is that I may know some famous athletes of the last decade or so, but before that, I really don't know. Whereas, at the time of their Olympics, their name was as popular as Michael Phelps is today (or almost!). And I realized that most everybody wants to be remembered...special in some good way. That is why people want to become a star or celebrity of some type, but it is never satisfying! They always want more money or medals or something. It is interesting to note that several studies lately have indicated that the "happiest" and most satisfied people are God-fearing Christians. Not billionaires, not movie stars, not people who have the "best" spouse, not professional athletes or supermodels...but really, there is no doubt in my mind that that is true. And that is what I discoverd. Now, I love to write (about some things!), so I could go on a long trail here, but I'll try to summarize. Basically, people have since high school thought of me as being "happy" most all the time, and I have been happy a lot, but what I really was was joyful. Because I knew God was in control of my life, and he was leading it, and that was all the reason I needed to have joy! When I was 13, I had sung so much that I overused my vocal cords and wasn't allowed to sing or talk for about a year, and I was devasted, but I learned that it was good since I had been proud of my singing voice, and now I have learned to just sing for God's glory. He knows what He's doing. I had looked at people simply praising me for what I did, but I was never satisfied with whatever they said. Two years ago, I started getting some kind of emotional problem. I was angry very often for no reason, but God helped me to deal with that, too. I have arthritis, bursitis, scoliosis, asthma, flat feet, a hip that causes me pain every day, and several other messed up things(although, yes! It could be much worse!). I don't know what to do after college (well, I know what I want to do, just don't know how I'm going to do it), and life hasn't exactly gone as I had planned. But! Every time God lifts me up and reminds me that He's going to work it all out. There is nothing to worry about. I can't even control whether I will be alive tomorrow or not, so why worry about anything else? And then I am special! God sees things way better than the rest of us. We look at the people who break Olympic records, make millions, etc. But I love how perfect God is! Because none of that really matters! There may be bad scoring in an event, a bad call by a ref, but God never messes up, and I find that so neat. I have lately been getting down again because I was looking at the wrong things, but today I was reminded again that ultimately nothing matters more to God than following Him. That's how to be remembered. It is all that matters, and it is the only way to be satisfied. And I am so excited, and I hope you don't mind me sharing with you!

So! Yesterday I visited my boyfriend's church, and I heard a very interesting message. It was about helping others excel. We all know helping others is generally a good thing, but are you willing to help others even if you know they will become greater than you? Now, of course, God views things rather differently than we do. No one is any better than anyone else to him. But what I really learned yesterday was that Barnabus (yes, it is a silly name- but aren't all names at some point?) was a great Christian and leader of the church, and he was the only one who took the new Paul under his wing. Paul, formerly Saul, had been the key persecutor of all the Christians until he had an encounter with Jesus that totally changed him. All the other Christians were, well, scared! Paul had been the one killing them off, and now he wants to join them? Was it a trick or was he serious? But Barnabus could see that God was going to use Paul, so he encouraged him and greatly helped him. Without Barnabus, Paul would not have become as "great" of a person as many view him. And even though many regard Paul as such a great Christian, I really like Barnabus here! So, are you willing to be a Barnabus? Maybe not everyone will know you, you may not get famous, you may not get all you "deserve" for your work, but God knows, and He will reward you. Stop being jealous that someone else has more money or got that promotion. Instead, be happy for them! If you teach someone to do something, and they end up becoming famous for it, rejoice for them! Just because you maybe have the same ability, doesn't mean that things will turn out the same for you! Only God knows best! Sometimes things don't seem fair to us, but God always knows best.

Well, here is something that was sent to me through email. I find it to be a little too strong and biased, but I just like some of the points it raises. Such as how the media itself is biased and how Islam is a growing religion in the world. Read it if you'd like. If not, that's fine. God bless!

For Your Information..........

The Jihad Candidate

by Rich Carroll

Conspiracy theories make for interesting novels when the storyline is not so
absurd that it can grasp our attention. 'The Manchurian Candidate' and
'Seven Days in May' are examples of plausible chains of events that captures
the reader's imagination at best-seller level. 'What if' has always been
the solid grist of fiction.

Get yourself something cool to drink, find a relaxing position, but before
you continue, visualize the television photos of two jet airliners smashing
into the Twin Towers in lower Manhattan and remind yourself this cowardly
act of Muslim terror was planned for eight years.

How long did it take Islam and their oil money to find a candidate for
President of the United States ? As long as it took them to place a Senator
from Illinois and Minnesota ? The same amount of time to create a large
Muslim enclave in Detroit ? The time it took them to build over 2,000
mosques in America ? The same amount of time required to place radical
wahabbist clerics in our military and prisons as 'chaplains'?

Find a candidate who can get away with lying about their father being a
'freedom fighter' when he was actually part of the most corrupt and violent
government in Kenya 's history. Find a candidate with close ties to The
Nation of Islam and the violent Muslim overthrow in Africa , a candidate who
is educated among white infidel Americans but hides his bitterness and anger
behind a superficial toothy smile. Find a candidate who changes his
American name of Barry to the Muslim name of Barack Hussein Obama, and dares
anyone to question his true ties under the banner of 'racism.' Nurture this
candidate in an atmosphere of anti-white American teaching and surround him
with Islamic teachers. Provide him with a bitter, racist, anti-white,
anti-American wife, and supply him with Muslim middle east connections and
Islamic monies. Allow him to be clever enough to get away with his
anti-white rhetoric and proclaim he will give $834 billion taxpayer dollars
to the Muslim controlled United Nations for use in Africa .

Install your candidate in an atmosphere of deception because questioning him
on any issue involving Africa or Islam would be seen as 'bigoted racism;'
two words too powerful to allow the citizenry to be informed of facts.
Allow your candidate to employ several black racist Nation of Islam Louis
Farrakhan followers as members of his Illinois Senatorial and campaign
staffs.

Where is the bloodhound American 'free press' who doggedly overturned every
stone in the Watergate case? Where are our nation's reporters that have
placed every Presidential candidate under the microscope of detailed
scrutiny; the same press who pursue Bush's 'Skull and Bones' club or ran
other candidates off with persistent detective and research work? Why
haven't 'newsmen' pursued the 65 blatant lies told by this candidate during
the Presidential primaries? Where are the stories about this candidate's
cousin and the Muslim butchery in Africa ? Since when did our national
press corps become weak, timid, and silent? Why haven't they regaled us
with the long list of socialists and communists who have surrounded this
'out of nowhere' Democrat candidate or that his church re-printed the Hamas
Manifesto in their bulletin, and that his 'close pastor friend and mentor'
met with Middle East terrorist Moammar Gaddafi, (Guide of the First of
September Great Revolution of the Socialist People's Libyan Arab
Jamahiriya)? Why isn't the American press telling us this candidate is
supported by every Muslim organization in the world?

As an ultimate slap in the face, be blatant in the fact your candidate has
ZERO interest in traditional American values and has the most liberal voting
record in U. S. Senate history. Why has the American main stream media
clammed-up on any negative reporting on Barack Hussein Obama? Why will they
print Hillary Rodham Clinton's name but never write his middle name? Is it
not his name? Why, suddenly, is ANY information about this candidate not
coming from main stream media, but from the blogosphere by citizens seeking
facts and the truth? Why isn't our media connecting the dots with Islam?
Why do they focus on 'those bad American soldiers' while Islam slaughters
non Muslims daily in 44 countries around the globe? Why does our media
refer to Darfur as 'ethnic cleansing' instead of what it really is; Muslims
killing non Muslims! There is enough strange, anti-American activity
surrounding Barack Hussein Obama to peek the curiosity of any reporter.
WHERE IS OUR INVESTIGATIVE MEDIA!?

A formal plan for targeting America was devised three years after the
Iranian revolution in 1982. The plan was summarized in a 1991 memorandum by
Mohamed Akram, an operative of the global Muslim Brotherhood. 'The process
of settlement' of Muslims in America , Akram explained, 'is a civilization
jihad process.' This means that members of the Brotherhood must understand
that their work in 'America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and
destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable
house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated
and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions.'

There is terrorism we can see, smell and fear, but there is a new kind of
terror invading the United States in the form of Sharia law and finance.
Condoning it is civilization suicide. Middle East Muslims are coming to
America in record numbers and building hate infidel mosques, buying our
corporations, suing us for our traditions, but they and the whole subject of
Islam is white noise leaving uninformed Americans about who and what is
really peaceful. Where is our investigative press? Any criticism of Islam
or their intentions, even though Islamic leaders state their intentions
daily around the globe, brings-forth a volley of 'racist' from the left-wing
Democrat crowd.

Lies and deception behind a master plan - the ingredients for 'The
Manchurian Candidate' or the placement of an anti-American President in our
nation's White House? Is it mere coincidence that an anti-capitalist run
for President at the same time Islamic sharia finance and law is trying to
make advancing strides into the United States ? Is it mere coincidence this
same candidate wants to disarm our nuclear capability at a time when
terrorist Muslim nations are expanding their nuclear weapons capability? Is
it mere coincidence this candidate wants to reduce our military at a time of
global jihad from Muslim nations?

Change for America ? What change? To become another 'nation of Islam'?

I have a friend who is down in New Orleans right now, working with inner city kids there. She is doing pretty good, but her work can be stressful! But she is actually more concerned with her dad, who is at home all alone and has hurt his knee. Now a lot of people hurt their knees, but he had surgery on it awhile ago and then had it again and then it was bothering him again, but this time the doctor realized that he had a Staph infection in his knee! He has been in much pain and all. The doctors were now afraid that the infection spread to his bones, but they are not sure yet. Please pray for him as it is hard to not only be alone, but also even harder when you are injured! Fortunately, he loves God and is trusting Him. Some gracious people have stepped up and helped him by giving him food and spending time with him.

Also pray for a girl named Elizabeth and trouble with her foot; a girl named Saya, who is hiding from her Muslim father who wants to beat her or worse for her becoming a Christian; and for my upcoming trip to Russia!

God bless!

Tonight I watched "It's a Wonderful Life" with my family, and it was wonderful! I love how it shows the beauty and preciousness of life! Sure the angels getting their wings is probably not true, but the moral of the story is that life is valuable! You don't have to be a famous national or international hero to make a difference! So have a Merry Christmas and enjoy that and the rest of life!

Hey! So in Romans 8:28, it says that "ALL things work together for good for those who love Him [God], who are called according to His purpose," and of course, it is what God calls good, which sometimes we can't understand. But here is one example of how something worked out for good, and I can understand why:

About a month or two ago, I was with a friend, when I realized that my Pitt ID, which is a necessity when you live in the dorms at the University of Pittsburgh (without it, you can't buy food or even get into your room!), was very bent...it almost seemed like it would snap in half! So it was annoying, but it still worked, so I kept using it. Then yesterday, we were having a Christmas dinner, and I was running just about on time and didn't want to be late. I was about to walk out the door when I realized that I didn't have my Pitt ID, so I began to search all over the place for it. I amazingly didn't panic but just kept praying that I would find it. Then! I saw just the piece bent up of it, sticking out on a shelf that was very high above me! I wouldn't have been able to see it if it hadn't have been bent! So, God works it for good! And that's just one itty-bitty, tiny example! God bless!

Well, we just had a holiday about being thankful- a very good topic! But also something that I really goes along with that is trust. We need to trust God- for everything! He holds our lives right in His hand-He's in control! Which is really a great thing because as much as we love to control things ourselves, left to our own, we would fail...miserably! But it is SOOO hard to just give things up for Him and let them be! I know I often am so frustrated because I am not sure what to do or how to do what I want or need to get done! But God knows! Take it to the Lord in prayer! He knows best! For example, I might not pass one of my classes right now, but I know that God knows best. He can help me to pass it or if it's His will for me to not pass, then he will help me not passing to work for His good! Yes! And also I am planning on going to Russia in the spring as a foreign exchange student. But the planning is crazy! Not to mention time-consuming! So it's very hard to get everything that needs done ...done! Just have to trust that if God wants it done, He will allow it to happen! Amen! Praise Jesus!
